Mar،i University is ،ising 2nd edition of MU’MUN 2024 Conference on 23-24 November.

About the Conference

Model United Nations is a simulation of the United Nations (UN) where students represent different countries and engage in debates and discussions on international issues in various committees. Students ،ume the roles of representatives from various nations and work towards resolving problems in the real world using the ideologies and viewpoints of the nation they are representing.

The delegate would be required to ،yze global issues like climate change or nuclear non-proliferation from the policies and viewpoints of that allotted portfolio. MUNs also have Model Youth Parliaments in the form of Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, and AIPPM (All India Political Parties Meet) and Gujarat Legislative Assembly where students represent different politicians and political parties of India and discuss national issues concerning India.

Mar،i University is ،izing a MUN (Model United Nations) on 23rd and 24th November 2024 at the University Campus with 8 interesting committees. It includes the International Committees of the United Nations(UN) as well as the Indian Model Youth Parliament committees.

• UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY
  Agenda: Discussion on the problems of refugees and illegal immigrants across the globe.
• UNITED NATIONS SECURITY COUNCIL
  Agenda: Geopolitics of South- China Sea disrupting the maritime and territorial disputes.
• UNITED NATIONS ENVIRONMENT PROGRAM
  Agenda: Appraising the adoption of Paris Climate Agreement and the need for a new global climate accord.
• UNITED NATIONS HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL
  Agenda: Israel – Palestine Conflicts and the subsequent war crimes.
• LOK SABHA
  AGENDA: Scrutinising the reservation system in India and the need for a caste census.
• ALL INDIA POLITICAL PARTIES MEET
  Agenda: Funding the Political Parties in light of the Elect، Bond Case.
• GUJARAT LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY
  AGENDA: Assessing corruption of Modi’s Gujarat Model in the view of TRP Game Zone Incident.
• IP 
• REPORTERS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS (JOURNALISM)
  This committee will ،st reporters and journalists w، will be representing a news agency, prepare reports, conduct press conferences, and interviews, and do،ent all the happenings of each committee.

General Instructions

• Venue :- Mar،i University Campus Rajkot
• Dates:- 23^rd  and 24^th  November, 2024
• Registration fees:  ₹1500 (Outside Parti،nts) ₹1000 ( For MU students). & ₹1300 ( Early bird registration before 25^th October 2024 )
• Fees are inclusive of Delegate Kits,  Breakfast, Lunch, High Tea, and Snacks for two days i.e. 23^rd and 24^th  November. 
• Refreshments and meals will be provided by the university to all delegates along with the Transportation Service (buses) to all delegates.
• Accommodation will be provided to outstation delegates on a chargeable basis.
• There are 8 committees, parti،nts will be allowed a particular committee and will be representing a country (in case of an international committee) or a politician(in case of an Indian committee) in the same discussion the agenda of that committee in various formats which will be moderated by a panel of the executive board
• Allotments would be made by the university. 

Eligibility

Students of high sc،ol and above till graduation level across all the sc،ols and Universities of India.

Language

• The official language of all the UN Committees will be English
• The official language of all the Indian Committees will be English and Hindi.
• The official language of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly will be Gujarati, Hindi and English.

Awards

Each committee will have its individual prizes which shall be as follows:-

• Best Delegate: ₹5000
• High Commendation Award: ₹3500
• Special Mention Award: ₹1500
• Best Sc،ol Award (Trophy)
• Best College Award(Trophy)
• Total prize pool: ₹ 80,000

Certificate of parti،tion shall be provided to all parti،nts along with the certificate of merit to the winners of each committee.
